One of the things I love so much about Carry On is that you could take out the LGBT aspect and the rest of the plot would remain almost entirely intact. It’s not a novel about two boys falling in love. It’s a novel in which two characters who both happen to be male fall in love during the course of events. It’s not an LGBT novel, it’s a fantasy novel that just happens to have LGBT characters. This is the kind of shit we should have been getting ages ago
